Founded in 1948 as a boat building firm, Stright-MacKay has grown to
become the major distributor of equipment to the inshore and midshore fishery in Atlantic
Canada. Sales are 97% wholesale, the customer base being boat builders, marine retail
outlets, fish processing companies, and fisheries cooperatives. Sales areas now constitute
all of Atlantic Canada's four provinces plus Quebec, Gaspé, the Magdalen Islands and Ontario. Export sales include United States, France and Greenland
